40 - Brawl in the parking lot. joneworlds@mailbox.org And so I borrowed Pete's truck again to drive Del out to Obern, where there are still some open clearance warehouse stores. Del's shoes are worn out and they're really picky about shoes. I wait in the truck while Del goes in. And just when they're getting back, that's when things start up. Didn't see who first said what about who, but there's these five elfs standing by a red sports car who start cussing and screaming at the top of their lungs at these centaurs in the row across, who are cussing and yelling right back. And it goes on and on, and everyone else who's in the lot is like whoa. And I'm just sitting there in the truck, watching all this go on from across the other row. And Del gets back and is like what the hell, and I'm like, I don't know. Because you see, all this is going on in some Olds tongue that we can't neither of us understand. And then it really busts open. And the elfs whip out these slingshots and start whipping stones, and they have pretty bad aim and are busting windows and lights on all the nearby cars. And the centaurs charge at them, and try to run down the elfs, and from somewhere a bunch of goblins have come out and jumped on the back of the centaurs and are flinging poop at the elfs. Poop-throwing goblins riding centaurs? Didn't know that was a thing. It's just bonkers, and everyone else now is running away and screaming. Except this one woman wearing a ninja turtles mask, an employee who comes out to collect all the returned shopping carts from right in the middle of all this, and she doesn't even look up or miss a beat. Another day another dollar. I really want to meet her. Anyways, soon it's just this mad chase around the cars which are all getting wrecked by centaur kicks, so Del and I are like, let's get out of here. And as we're pulling back onto the road, we see one of the Braxon chieftain's trucks is racing up and pulling in. That's never good... And as we drive off, we hear that pop pop... pop. And we just drive home in silence, and I'm feeling sick. But at least Del got some shoes.
