Brown about 1 pound or 500g of stewing beef in a pan with 1 tbsp of oil. Take it out. Add 2 tbsp flour to the pan, and mix it around to soak up the juices, and cook for 3 minutes. Gradually add some broth and stir, until you have a smooth sauce. Peel 5 medium potatos, and chop into 4 pieces. Peel 2 big carrots, and chop into big pieces. Chop up half a big onion into big pieces. Put all these in a pot with a lid that can go in the oven, and mix it all around. Add the sauce, and the rest of the broth. The liquid should cover the meat and vegetables. Cook in the oven at 350 for 2 hours, covered. Add salt and pepper to taste.
