Away - whose ball if furthest from thehole hits first 4. Birdie - one under par 5. Boogie - one over par 6. Bunker - a trap or hazard 7. Divot - the turf that is lifter 8. Dodo - 3 under par on one hole 9. Eagle - 2 under par on one hole 10. Face - contact surface of the club 11. Fore -a warning signal 12. Green - short grass around the pin 13. Handicap - strokes given to a player so that he can make par 14. Honor - priority in the order of teeing-off 15. Hook - a curve to the left for a right hander 16. Lie - position of the ball on the course 17. Match Play - a contest that is determined by winning or losing the hole 18. Medal Play - the game is on the number of strokes taken 19. Pull - a hit to the left for a right hander 20. Rough - the long grass along side the fairway 21. Slice - a curve to the right for a right hander 22. Up - the number of holes ahead in a match A few rules of Etiquette 1. Lost ball - 2 strokes penalty (or stroke and distance) 2. No improvement in the lie - unless it is stated that the lie can be improved. 3. Loose impediments can be moved, but anything attached cannot be moved. 4. A ball can be removed from casual water and dropped no nearer the hole. 5. A stroke is when the ball is moved by the club, or an attempt to hit the ball is made. 6. The player furthest from the hole hits first. 7. Silence is the rule when a player is hitting. 8. Mark your ball on the green, if it is in line with another ball. 9. The player who wins the hole, tees up first on the next hole. 10. Replace all divots. 11. Keep your temper under control!
