WARNING: Language (mainly F-bombs)

I'm going on a mini-rant about Google. I love Hangouts. I liked Google
Plus (it's not technically shut down until April, but yeah, it's
dead.). So this week they announced that not only are they shutting
down Plus, but they're shutting down Hangouts for businesses by
October and probably for consumers in 2020.

Hangouts is a great program. Texting, chat, phone calls, and video
calls all in ONE simple app. One app. One sign-in with Google, meaning
less passwords to remember. One app to update. ONE. It's simple. It's
beautiful. It's f**king great. It's convenient. And Google is shutting
it down... for what? No actual good reason. It takes effort to shut a
service down. It takes NO effort to just leave it be. It's like if
Microsoft automatically killed every version of Windows 95 that
happened to connect to the Internet because they feel like it's not
the future.

This is not the first or probably last time Google will shut down a
great app in the name of just being a fucking dick. I suspect they
want Allo and Duo to take off, but nobody fucking wants multiple apps
when ONE app does all that and more.

I have my movie collection backed up FOR FREE on Photos. I have a lot
of email on Gmail. How much longer until the fucking idiots that head
Google decided to shut down Photos, Gmail, and Search? I hate them so
fucking much not because they're stupid, but because they're
destructively stupid. They have no idea what they're doing to
customers. I thought Microsoft was bad with these unstoppable updates
to Windows 10 and analytics for advertisers built into the damn OS. At
least with Google you can choose to not use them if you don't want to
be tracked. But the P.T.B.s at Google are a whole different animal:
they're taking great products and ruining them or stopping them.
That's destructive stupidity.
