Metronet sucks. They had a huge outage last night that affected me as well. It was far from the first time and caused me to go outside and check the line. The dumbasses still haven't buried the line yet. The thing that frustrates me to no end is they have normal technicians and "bury teams" that are sent out separately. Why can't you have one guy install the thing and bury it? The first bury team that didn't even bury the entire line, took like a fucking month to get to us. It was supposed to take 2 weeks max. Fiber optic is not good unless it's buried and sheltered from most critters and tangling factors. Ring (Amazon) sucks. The feds filed a complaint about how insecure their system was and how hackers and contractors could access the videos of any customer any time regardless of when or whether they needed access. Big thumbs up to the geniuses who thought that installing a camera connected to the Internet in your bedroom or bathroom was a good idea. But honestly, the lack of accountability is pretty despicable from a company as large as Amazon. This is basic cybersecurity stuff. Also evidently they had the same issue as Icloud had with the ability to try thousands of passwords without a timeout. What a joke. Finally, the housing/price of living crisis sucks. I live at home with my mother, which 20 years ago would probably be seen as a failure, while within the past 5-10 years or so it's become what I'd consider just much more sensible or even remotely affordable. Fuck the landowners/homeowners that are just being greedy dickheads making things just impossible for the 99% to afford. It's gotten so bad that "normal" people are actually considering not updating their stupid phones every 2 years. Capitalism sucks so much nowadays.
