Let me fix that for you:

    God Save (us from) the King

It turns out that the constitutional republic in which I live
is in fact an absolute monarchy. Indeed, its president has
"total" authority:

    "The president of the United States calls the shots,"
    [President Trump] said at his evening news briefing. "They
    can't do anything without the approval of the president of
    the United States."

    Asked what provisions of the Constitution gave him the power
    to override the states if they wanted to remain closed, he
    said, "Numerous provisions," without naming any. "When
    somebody's the president of the United States, the authority
    is total." [0]

Let that last line sink in folks: the president believes his
authority is *total*. And recent history has shown that congress
is unwilling and unable to check his authority. Maybe it's time
to move back home to Canada. Its monarchy is only
constitutional.
