it was a month ago that my town dropped its mask requirements at indoor facilities. the decision was announced the day after the WHO issueda guidance to US residents that they wear masks indoors even if they are vaccinated, because of emerging evidence that the delta variant could be spread by them. The CDC immediately entered a PR campaign to insist that the WHO was giving advice for people in other parts of the world (is there another U.S.A.?), providing cover for localities to avoid reducing the inevitable impact of a new covid spike. exactly a month later my town will return to masks indoors. it's lost to seemingly everyone but me that *both* of these decisions followed expert advice that people needed to take stronger measures against delta. it's no wonder that nobody knows any solid information and that few people know how much to trust gov't recommendations
