I see bradmac is learning Emacs [0],[1], a worthy endeavor! I've been an Emacs user for many years, but have for some time wanted to do the opposite - a deep-dive into vi (and other classic Unix tools like ksh and awk), partly for something different, also partly to keep my brain active. It's also just fun to learn new stuff. Five years ago I wrote the SDF Emacs tutorial and cheatsheet [2][3][4], which I hope some might still find useful. I read Rak's problems with OVH [5], and although I have never used them in particular, I have had my share of issues with VPS providers in the past. So I can sympathize. The past five years or so I've been with Ramnode, and have received excellent support the once or twice per year I need it. So I am in no rush to switch.
