NOSTALGIC FAN MAIL

       Foreword

My friend Kevin's living in Sweden right now where he's doing wonderful things in education. He's been following my website for some time and he's often appeared as a ghost contributor with his comic title suggestions[1]. When I checked the mail a few days ago I saw he'd sent me a letter. I was so surprised! Upon opening it, I found two identical stickers, two identical drink coasters, an illustrated card, and a typewritten letter. The letter was a beautiful reflection on nostalgia, and how it can decorate our life with potent rememberies[2].

I've included the letter here in scanned and transcribed form. I hope
you enjoy reading it as much as I do.

I have a small issue with nostalgia objects. Mine is rather silly. I
snatch up stickers every chance I get. I love to personalize my things
by slapping a sticker on it. However, other than my Hydroflask I
cannot bring myself to put stickers on everything. What if I want to
sell them someday? No one will buy a car with a bumper
sticker. Especially an obnoxious one. I am in possession of a big
yellow bumper sticker that was gifted to me. It's from a Pixies show
that say "Where Is My Mind?" and has a cartoon mushroom on it. I held
a spot at the show for a friendly lone concert goer, and as a token of
gratitude for keeping his spot while he went wee he return with this
sticker. Someday I will have a place for it but never on a car.

I also self-inflict sticker collection of ones that have no
place. Breweries where the beer is so overpriced that if I don't snag
some swag I will leave feeling like I didn't get my money's worth.

Enclosed is one of those stickers. I have no appropriate place for
it. It has been hiding in a drawer.

My desire is for Scarlett and Liam to stick these stickers (there are
two now) someplace. Hopefully as a reminder that I miss them and their
antics. Thus, gifting these two stickerz instant nostalgia.

Slap these stickers anywhere you choose. But, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT
hesitate. Or they will suffer the same fate they have in my
       apartment. Sitting in a drawer.

Also enclosed are two coasters from a stylish Danish
brewery. "Drink'in in the sun", a non-alcoholic Wheat Ale. You will
have to come visit to taste the nectar yourselves.

       Your dedicated reader,
       Kevin.

As soon as I read Kevin's directive, I sought to carry it out. I
wanted to stick the sticker on something I'd see often. Seeing it
would remind me of Kevin, and he's a wonderful thing to remember. My
computer--being an extension of my brain--was the most logical
destination. I'm so happy its there.

Forthcoming will be a picture of Liam's sticker instincts. I still
have to surprise him with the Swedish swag.
