The most important love we can find for ourselves is the love we can find in ourselves. For me, this thought comes on the heels of my wife and I opening our relationship to other lovers, partners, and interests. So while my wife grows her other connections, and I await my own, I'm spending more nights alone reconnecting with parts of myself that had been dorment.[1] These are the parts of me that thrive in solitude, like my intelligence and curiosity. It's deeply fulfiling to sustain my own stimulation, entertainment, engagement, and enrichment with my own self through drawing, programming, reading, and all-purpose lounging around. I'll admit there are challenges, too, and I'm often accompanied by chat apps and the abstractions of connection provided therein. All the same, I still feel growth: a branching outwards (from inside) of feelings and thoughts. As I oscillate between the inner and the outer, I feel myself narrowing in on a life that I truly want to live.

[1] One of those parts loves to lace up my Saucony's and dance to House Music and Nightcore. Another of those parts loves to clamor into bed early and read, write, draw, and think for hours.
