My father had a fall last week and ended up in hospital - where he
still remains.  He ended up with a terrible case of pneumonia, which
on top of his congestive heart failure led to the situation last week
where he nearly died.

I travelled to Mansfield on Monday to pay him a visit.  I was very
surprised to see how well he looked - despite being laid up in a
hospital bed.  He was chatty and alert.  No sign of the terribe cough
he had last week.  Hard to believe it was the same man who could
hardly breathe this time last week.

He's determined to survive and get over this, and that's half the
battle in my book.
