I had a hernia operation last Thursday and am now laid up at home with
some time on my hands.  I've been catching up on some phlogs at SDF,
and one in particular has raised my interest - contact managment using
text based files with vim and ranger, written by dbucklin:

I'm testing this out on SDF.  The ranger program is not available
here, but mc is a text based file manager and can be configured to
have filenames in the left panel with a preview of the file contents
in the right panel to work similarly as described by the original
author using ranger.
