I'm on a roll with this word thing.  I've come across quite a few
words where I think I know what they mean, but I have looked up just
to make sure.

Today's word is egregious.  I guessed that it meant uncaring, selfish
or something like that.

According to dictionary.com, it means oustandingly bad, shocking or
horrible.  

Hmmm.

A bit off the mark with that one.
