My Latest Project - Emacs I've been a fairly dedicated vim user for quite a while now. I have been watching Derek Taylor on his Youtube channel "DistoTrobe." He recently took on the challenge of learning Emacs. He used to be a Vim person. He now seems to be an Emacs person. I've tried using Emacs before, and I've given it up after only a few hours. Too hard. Why bother putting in the time to learn a new editor when Vim does everything that I want? One answer to this question is that I like learning. At my age (59), brain elasticity becomes an issue. Use it or lose it. I'm doing this as an intellectual exercise which may actually lead me to finding something I didn't know about that is actually better (or maybe not as good) as what I know and use now. Well, here goes... How do you exit Emacs? esc :q! doesn't seem to work :-( --- bradmac@sdf.org 2020-08-03
