(because its not for me)

its been a bit since I started being on the fediverse again. I "left" before
due to feeling like I didn't belong, and due to almost every instance I had an
account on just dying. I only really came back because I was helping with a
friend's self hosted Pleroma instance, but that died after federating with a
large instance. then I was given an invite to the instance I'm currently on.

after the birdsite migration, for whatever reason I subconsciously slipped back
into the mannerisms and behavior I had when I was using birdsite years ago.
constantly complaining about things and challenging peoples opinions
intentionally for whatever reason. the cycle needed to be broken and now here we
are.

this feeling isn't specifically towards microblogging sites either, its with any
post based social site. even on GitHub I've constantly have done the same exact
mannerisms.

if anything I want to try to do more thought out, methodical posts like these
phlogs, instead of just short bursts of anger, frustration, and what not like I
have been on post based social sites.

I also just prefer conversations over instant messaging than anything. maybe its
the real time aspect? who knows. I've just had way more meaningful conversations
through IM than any post thread. (its also easier and fun to keep a conversation
going for an hour or so just going off on various tangents.)

if anything I'll just use fedi for "self-promotion" and seldomly things I feel
like sharing to a greater audience.
