born and raised around computers

aspired to be a game dev, not really much anymore
started dabbling in HTML around 10/11
first "real" language was Lua around 13

prefer modding things (not just games) more than trying to make a game from
scratch
asset creation is not my strong suit

sadly grew up using windows
XP -> Vista -> 7 -> 8 -> 8.1 -> 10
dabbled with linux on and off from 2013 onwards

started daily driving linux october 2022
was fed up with trying to use windows the wrong way
prefered mingw over cygwin; mingw really doesnt have the same goals as cygwin
switched to stop frustrating myself with trying to compile linux things on mingw

i used windows classic theme when i was on XP and Vista, so i tend to prefer
that visual style and try to emulate it as perfect as possible

general exploration of system files, using mspaint a lot, at one point borrowing
a Gameboy and SNES, and flash games (mainly games from Nitrome) got me
interested in pixel art


==== Music ====
grew up with the Hackers soundtrack, specifically The Prodigy and Underworld
in addition, The Future Sound of London - Dead Cities

a lot of alt/punk rock (Nirvana, The Offspring) and nu-metal (Korn, Disturbed)
as well
theres a lot of other genres and artists that i can barely remember as well

around 2010/2011, my dad found some dubstep randomly and we were both hooked on
it
that started my music collecting and finding out about mixtapes

Landerz was one of the only DJs creating mixtapes that we listened to
and also music collection packs from Dub-Level, which has been dead since 2015

in early 2016 i lost my original music collection due to hard drive failure
(tried to defrag a hybrid drive without knowing you couldn't do that)

Landerz stopped putting out new mixtapes after 2018, and since then my music
collection has just been all over the place
mainly got into j-core, breakcore, jungle, and vaporwave; which is what i
primarily listen to nowadays, but still have a soft spot for older dubstep/edm
(2015 and older)

also around 2014, Soundclown was becoming a thing; mashups and short audio
shitposts
i stopped closely following it around mid 2022, but i still occasionally see
what people create or see if theres a new 7# mix from the 73 team


==== Projects ====
i tend to make stuff for myself or friends

i used to spend a lot of time just writing various scripts and projects for
Garry's Mod, but due to spending most of my time in a toxic community, i prefer
to not get into it
(i also dont play anymore due to superstition of things going wrong around me.
my total hours sits at 11,330 hours)

a bot for Discord, on and off work since 2016. just has general features
i feel i need in bot form for myself and friends
(bots are what got me interested in Discord to begin with)

a private client mod for Discord since 2017. also made plugins for a couple
public client mods, but prefer to work privately and not engage with the public
client modding community

comcord, a Discord client inspired by SDF's COMMODE chat

various Minecraft mods over the years. i tend to not hold on to these for long
due to how my interest for the game in general comes and goes

theres a lot of other projects ive forgotten about that are either lost, won't
be published, or are somewhere out there on various code forges (mainly GitHub
and Gitlab)
