LORD

You might want to come and check out the Legend Of the Red Dragon (LORD) game
on (telnet) connect.serionbbs.com.  Accounts are free and there is a somewhat
active community of other people playing LORD daily.

LORD is a great text-based game, typically delivered via BBS'es.  I played it
a bunch as a high school student back in the 1990s.

Search the forest for monsters to kill, gain experience, level up, buy new
weapons and armor, kill other players, go on side quests.

There may very well be other, more active places to play LORD (drop me an
e-mail and let me know!) but connect.seriousbbs.com has been doing it for
me during the last few weeks.
