The job hunt continues! I've had some interviews but they didn't pan out for varying reasons. So, I'm continuing my job hunt now and into the new year. I'm hoping that the start of the new year will have fresh prospects with regards to SWE employment. Though at this point, I've begun applying to roles corresponding to FPGA/embedded development. Not that my education didn't cover that stuff, but it's definitely in a different ballpark from the little professional experience I have. Only time will tell how this all goes though. In other news, I held a small friendsmas on saturday that went pretty well. My friend got his great grandmother's lasagna recipe so we spent most of the day on that + some accompaniments (cinnamon cookies, gouyeres, bruschetta, and roastes tomatoes). All of that stuff was very good, but the lasagna itself was on a completely different level. The lasagna had short rib, pancetta, with homemade tomato and cheese sauces. Which is all to say, there was enough grease and fat in it to give a horse a heart attack. While eating the single slice I had, it felt like my stock was getting nuked with each bite that went down my gullet. It tasted great though. I had a small celebration with my family yesterday. Today I've agreed to attend my partner's annual christmas lunch that she has with her immediate family and landlords. I'm sure it'll go well but let me be the first to say that I am not particularly a fan of these more 'formal' lunches/dinners. Not that I've been to one anyways. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to the folks on Gopher! Blessed are the Phlogmakers.
