,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Monday, July 18th 2022 '''''''''''''''''''''' This is my first phlog entry. I've set up a small gopherspace and plan on continuing my excursions into the so-called "smol web". Next step is a gemini capsule, though to be perfectly honest gemini and gopher seem to share the same userspace. gemini has more markdown capabilities though, so that will be interesting to play with. I'm about halfway through the PEN-200 OffSec course. My plan is to get enough of a foundation to hunt bug bounties, as my health is poor and I can't hold down a normal job right now. I did several udemy courses before finding a leak of the PEN-200. It's pretty basic stuff. To be honest they leave out a lot of pertinent information. For example: right now I am studying buffer overflows. I happen to already know most of this stuff, so it strikes me as odd when the instructor never once mentions ASLR yet expects the student to follow along with his examples. If I didn't know the deal, I wouldn't be able to follow this part of the lesson. Very frustrating. I've finished the "Starting Point" course on HackTheBox.com, and managed to get root flag on my first live machine without a walkthrough. I definitely plan on buying a membership, this site is invaluable for lab practice. Thats all I have for you today. Thanks for following my smolweb journey. - diviniti
