On the Matter of Migrations

I can't seem to make up my mind yet if I prefer Gemini over the (much) more traditional gopher protocol. I'm sure the negativity surrounding Gemini doesn't help. Talk about doomscrolling; just look up any "discussions" on this protocol had in the last couple of years. Everything from accusations of elitism to the creator abandoning the project. (The latter of which is, at least partially, the truth. Sadly.) 

Still, I see a fun community surrounding a fairly usable protocol — another niche in the so-called "small internet" that seems to be all the rage these days. After decades of gopher and USENET, this seems like a natural progression. Will I stick with it or go running back to gopher? That is the question. I don't have an answer just yet. Time will tell, I suppose.

In any case, I still have literally *years* of material to process and get ready for posting. Take up writing as a hobby, they said. Good times, they said…
