To view gopher pages in a web browser without having to use a proxy server, try using Firefox (www.getfirefox.com) or a gopher-enabled Internet Explorer. To enable Internet Explorer to use the gopher protocol, you will have to make a quick registry hack. Open regedit and navigate to the "Internet Settings" key. In the right-hand pane, right-click and create a new DWORD value. Name the value "EnableGopher" and make it equal to 00000001. Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Key: Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\EnableGopher Type: DWord Value: 00000001 Background information on this hack can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS02-047.mspx
