Connected again For the third time this past month, a technician came home to install a fiber line in our flat. The first one didn't found where to plug the cable in the building. The second one found it and made the wiring; but unfortunately we were unable to make the connection to the fiber plant. In his defence, it is not in my building but in another; and we couldn't find the keys to access the basement despite our investigations with the neighbors. But fortunately, before the third technician came today, I was able to get in touch with the janitor who opened the door for us (he was on holidays until august the 1st). So now, after a month, we have Internet at home again. My wife is very happy about it. Me? I'm like "meh". The thing is, since a year now, I've changed my relation with Internet and I managed to configure my devices to be offline first. It means that I just have to be connected few minutes each day or two to grab the content I need--in the case I need something at all. Obviously, sometimes, there's some ressources that I don't have locally but I can fight the urge to connect to the Internet to get it "now". Unless it's something very urgent, it can wait. But I will say more on this topic in future posts in the coming days.
