/~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~\ In a discussion I had elsewhere, someone asked my why I'm so adamant about using a proper word processor for my writing, rather than just writing it out, marking it up in Markdown or LaTeX, and making a PDF that way. I replied with one simple word: Comfort. A writer works best when they're comfortable. Be it on a laptop in a café, or at home in bed, or even sitting at a desk in a home office. Comfort comes from many different factors, and they're different for each individual. For me, I'm most at home on an older Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), with Pages '09 for my word processor (or Scrivener for longer works), and BBEdit for a text editor and scrap window. I enjoy having some form of music playing, or sometimes just random YouTube videos, or maybe sounds from a game I'm playing at the time. And as long as I'm left alone, I'm not only happy, but can do quite a bit of work. Within the furry fandom, I know of people who enjoy working their craft in fursuits (partial or full), or in some cases, even kink gear, just for fun. It's all up to the individual. So... What makes you comfortable doing your work? How do you get yourself "in the zone", so to speak? That's honestly something I'd love to know. \~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~/
