Moved

So we moved.

Successfully, for the most part.

I'm still looking for bits and pieces that I know I packed.

Those things will turn up when they turn up.

What is really getting to me is that broadband internet
won't be installed until 3rd May. I ordered on the 27 March
and was advised that it could be 3-4 weeks but this has made
it very challenging to have a family so used to being
connected 24/7/365.

That it's my son's Easter holidays from school doesn't help
although he has discovered some skill with a Rubiks cube.

I have tried to explain that I grew up without the internet
so he should be fine entertaining himself with books and TV
or even playing outside but that doesn't seem to cut the mustard.

Hopefully the date provided was a provisional one and it'll
come back much sooner, I don't think they can cope with out
their netflix and roblox fixes and soon they may consider a
mutiny when the family realises that without internet they
don't need the resident fixer-of-IT-things anymore.

I'm currently writing this with an old EEEpc and a tethered
connection to my mobile phone, but due to a lack of unlimited
data plans in the house (only my wife has one, and my son has
already blasted through his 20GB allowance for his phone)
I'm having to ration my own use of the internet for anything
that isn't work related
