Starting on Act 2 I asked the Artisitic director to step down of her role and to join as assistant director. It will give her more flexibility to work with the actors and will give me more flexibility on the art direction. Although not a full cast, we had all the body on the scene. It made it so much easier to manage and visualize how that will happens. The actors are really polite toward each others, and I want to create this emotional dynamics of a family who hate each others. I asked Grete to tap into her anger. She found a place she can find that place of despair, mix of love and hate. Focusing on the discomfort of the play. We decided to remove the couch from the play and only use the bed as the main prop for Gregor. We need to build that bed, or find a solid metal bed on wheels... It seems like the transition from Artistic director to assistant director was the right choice. We both seemed to have more freedom in this practice. We still need an actor for the role of 'mind'
