# [2019.04.17] Louvre Today we went to Paris only near the lunchtime, bought a baguette and had a prolonged meal time in the Tuileries garden together with many other people, mostly, I guess, local. There we saw a band of crows plundering on a waste bin. One of them got nearly into the large plastic bag inside and tried to lift it with its beak, and another then helped to pick anything of value from it, the rest of birds waiting for loot sitting on the ground. After they finished, the scene looked like some irresponsible people had thrown their trash around the bin, no crows involved. Perfect crime! Louvre can't really be described by words. Its magnificence is beyond any museum or palace I've ever seen. Before visiting it, I believed that there were many tapestries in the royal palace of Stockholm or that Hermitage in Saint Petersburg had an enormous size. You want some antiquities - come and see a plaster statue from Ayn Ghazal, more than 9000 years old! You prefer Ancient Egypt or Assyria - several series of halls stuffed with artefacts from these cultures are at your service. You're trained in the perception of fine arts (unlike me:)) - well, you're welcome (no, I didn't go to see Mona Lisa). You just want to see luxurious interiors of the kings' dwelling - it's everywhere, just be swift enough to turn your head. We spent nearly all day there and saw only a tiny part of Louvre's treasures.
