# [2019.12.03] LanguageTool Arne Neumann wrote me an email advising to give a try to LanguageTool in addition to Grammarly. I didn't know about this software which is happily open-sourced and can work even without the internet. It's easy to integrate with Emacs too, which is particularly pleasant for me. Grammarly, as I guess, is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it collects some data about your texts (and errors in them) which is not so good. On the other hand, it could use that data to improve its checking quality which can be a nice feature to have. I think I will need some time to compare two systems and to find out the difference.
