I meant to make a post earlier, but I've been out all day with friends. It's really nice considering the fact that, like, I thought I was going to end up being super lonely without Tomo. But nope! I've been getting to hang out a lot with Rob, Celina, and Bars, and it's been nice (y'know, at least for the past two days). Savannah is coming today (in like seven hours) because of Yoshi's birthday yesterday, so I'm happy about that too. Computer Club's first actual meeting this semester also went really well!! Five whole people (including me) showed up! We decided to meet twice a week so that everyone could show up, and we even started a Discord server for the members of the club. I'm really excited for it. I'm supposed to meet with SBA Tuesday to beg for $50 for a Raspberry Pi 3 and a 32gb microSD card (for the club, not my project). Hopefully they say yes; it's the beginning of the semester, so I'm hoping that they still have plenty of money to give out. Currently typing on an IBM Model M, which I borrowed from Rob. It's really nice, and I like the tactility, but honestly I don't think I'm going to be able to survive without a Windows key. Also if I had a roommate, they would murder me. It's loud as heck (but that's expected). Rob and Celina both told me that they would donate to my terminal project, so hopefully after that happens I can get started ordering parts. I've been hesitant because I didn't want to start without being able to order what I needed from places like Mouser and MPJ together (to save money on shipping). I know that building the keyboard is going to be the most expensive part, so I'm saving that for last (on my need-to-do). The prospect is making me somewhat nervous, but since Rob is a keyboard expert with experience building his own keyboards and trying a heckton of different switches and everything else, I'm sure he can help point me in the right direction. I'm going to handwire it instead of ordering a PCB to save money and time. Still not sure what I'm going to go with for the keyboard plate, but we'll see. I need to go ahead and design the plate in Inventor when I get the chance (if I can remember how to use it anyway. It's been like... 3 years now. Maybe I should just use something else). This Model M is making my hands tired. Like, dang son. And I don't like using the mouse, so the lack of a super key (is that what it's called?) is making me kind of sad. Anyway, that's all for now. Let's keep the Gopher party going . < . )/
