Actively used devices =================== Today I have learned that battery in my Zaurus SL-C760 is flat just after a week of very light use (I only turned the device on for a few times to see if it still work). It have happened no less than three times in three weeks. So I decided the battery out and to put the machine in storage (it was a cheap replacement battery, not an original one). It's probably not the best decision as this device is more nice and lighter than my Zaurus SL-C3200 which I want to keep in service. It has also more correctly configured OS - there work both the Sharp headphones with remote control and the WiFi card. But the WiFi has little use these days (it's too old to connect to most of contemporary networks) and I don't care the original Sharp headphones too often as they are too precious. In other hand the C3200 has somewhat better keyboard, it has much larger internal storage (the 6 GB hard disk plus possibility to accommodate one 2 GB SD card) and it has mini-USB port: in can accept mices, keyboards and USB mass storage devices, too (and possibly more). It has also a much better internal speaker (one can use the headphones instead but in some situations this thing is useful, too). If I'm not mistaken then there is still the old original Sharp-branded battery inside the device. I have not lucky about batteries - the battery in my work computer (a Dell Vostro laptop) died last week after slightly more than two years on service. I also decided to have just one Palm III alive: I have kept two of them for some time - one for indoor use (I do store my passwords here and it also serves as a Plucker reader) and one for outdoor use (for Kodak PalmPIx camera use, for some geocaching and so). I don't use the second one too much so it makes no sense to just keep its batteries charged. I'm still trying to have my Sony UX-50 charged as it is a better device for programming than a stylus-only Palm III. I'm also thinking what to do with my Ubuntu Touch tablet. It was proven useful during holidays (as a map display and as a portable WWW browser) but it lies unused for the most of time (not including some random testing). Other portable stuff I use quite rarely. Maybe except the Elektronika 52 calculators (I have one at work and one at home) but they are usually used as a desk calculators.
