Running SGI Indy ================ At the moment I'm running the SGI Indy. It's partially because it's too hot here and I'm not sure if the ventilator in the O2 can handle this (I replaced the original one with a low-noise version which is also a bit less powerful). It seems that it is still powerfull enough: the main limitation is limited WWW access (there is no browser that can connect via the modern HTTPS) so I'm mostly limited to the Gopher a to WWW sites like technomorous.eu or abclinuxu.cz . But for the off-line work it's fast and responsible enough. I'm listening to the MP3 stream (ORF Radio Wien, of course), running several Netscapes, a ton of terminal with different stuff and also trying to prepare some 3D models for finite element computations. I decided to make some shortcuts to useful WWW sites on my desktop. It's easy in the IRIX 6.5: if the URL is in the clipboard, then it is enough to click on the desktop with the middle mouse button. By the way, you might have noticed that Logout made a Gopher sites aggregator called Bongusta! [1]. That's a nice thing. Reference: [1] gopher://i-logout.cz/1/en/bongusta/
