Another GPD Pocket failure

It seems that something is wrong with my GPD Pocket. Roughly before one
year I had to replace the faulty battery. Now the battery seems to look
OK but the device does not charge.  When on AC power then it shows 1-4%
of battery and obviously refuses to start.

When not on AC it just shows the "empty battery" image.

That's very  unfortunate because  the device fits  my needs  very well:
it's small,  light and portable  and still have a  keyboard comfortable
enough (with the trackpoint!) and really excellent screen.

Update:
People say  [1] that it  should help to  disconnect the battery  for at
least one hour. That sounds like black magic for me. But I disconnected
that damn thing and will report if it helped.
