Home office after one week ========================== I have been working at home for more that one week (for nine days actually). It has some pluses and some minuses. The minus is that I cannot access some of work software (I didn't set up remote access to my work computer and now I am not able to manage it). Another minus is the fact that I am not brave enoug to re-organise my home office as now I fully depend on it. I need to disconnect most of cables, move the table, re-sat screen and computers in order to make the place more comfortable (and to connect my SGIs to their screens - now I cannot use nor the Indigo nor the Indy; I have had to disconnect them in order to fit the new LCD to my main POWER9 computer). But I fear to disconnect the cables now... The plus is that I am able to work with less interruptions and I can concentrate to one thing and sometimes can even finish it. For example, I noticed that my FEA software (which I use both for hobby and work) shows strange results in some cases. So I spent two days in catching of bugs (there are several which have been introduced during last several years). I also added several functionalities which I wasn't able to write before. So what I use now: Raptor BlackBird (POWER9 with 32 GB of RAM and 512GB SSD, integrated 2D framebuffer) with a 24" EISZO LCD, SGI keyboard and mouse. There is the Fedora 31/ppc64le. The Punkt MP01 for SMSs (I have had jsut one call at all, the rest were SMSs). The Palm IIIxe for todo, calendar stuff and notes (for moments when I am outside the computer)..The TRGpro is used for outdoor use, at home I am using the IIIx. Pen a paper if necessary. An old IKEA "Docent" table with a Lumiy lamp and a chair (the chair was made by local company and it was inexpensive). That's all.. Written on my old damage Stowaway keyboard for Palm III.
