In search of cheap Intel Mac

It seems that  I need an Intel  Mac to test some stuff.  The Intel one,
really (I have already several PowerPC  Macs). I don't need it too much
but it still  will be better to  test software on a real  thing than on
any sort of emulator.

But I'm not sure what I exactly need/want. A relatively new OS X/macOS
will be a plus but I have no other requirements.

Will be a some  variation of the Mini the right one?  Or there are some
caveats? I have  enough number of LCDs  screen so I think  that I don't
need an iMac.  Has the iMac any other advantage  (except the integrated
screen) over the Mini?

And what Mini  has the best price/performance ratio. I  don't know so I
have to find out...

Or can someone  point me to some  sort of reliable "How to  buy an used
Mac" guide?
