MNT Reform vs MacBook ===================== I heard about the latest Apple [1] offerings. They are switching to the ARM platform. To THEIR ARM platform. And there is a new Mac Mini and a bunch of MacBooks already available (they can be ordered now, at least). So one may try to compare them to the MNT Reform [2]. It can be also ordered just now. There are many similarities: * ARM CPU, * obscure keyboard layouts, * high price, much above equally fast x86 offerings, * non-expandable RAM, * small screen (12.5-13"), * small LCD panel between keyboard and screen, * OS which is not available on he second platform (*), * unique look. (*) The MNT cannot run then macOS. The new Apples cannot run any system that ran on the MNT. So both platforms can be considered closed. As you can see the MNT has all the features which would attract most of Apple customers. There are some differences, though: * Apples have faster CPU, * MNT has lower price, * MNT has upgradable system board (one can expand RAM in this way, too), * MNT has much better keyboard hardware. So the MNT does not differ from Apples as much as one can think in the first moment. What do you think? P.S. I'm just kidding. Don't take me too serious, please. :-) References: [1] https://apple.com [2] https://mntre.com/reform/
