EDC/gear update

Note: this is a post which I wrote some time ago on my (off-line) Z88.


It's December, winter is close so it's time to update equipment. I have
replaced  my  canvas  and  leather  backpack with  a  red  Deuter  city
backpack. It's a small  backpack (15 litres or so) but  it has a pocket
for A4 documents. And - being the Deuter - it is really comfortable.

Aside of  that I have got  a Kayu fountain  pen. I wrote about  is some
time ago. It does  not mean that I abandoned my  trusty Rotring Tikky 2
rollerballs (I have a good number of them - they are distributed 01long
all my pen cases, document folios and bags) but I use this one when I'm
in office  and one of  the Rotring Tikky  rollerball pens in  all other
cases.

The Kayu  have came  with a  nice natural  felt pouch.  So I  ordered a
matching one  [1] for my Punkt  MP01 phone. I think  that felt material
has a bit better thermal insulation than a thin leather of the original
Punkt pouch.

I have realised that  I almost have ceased to carry  any type of laptop
or PDA  with me. My  TRGpro is at  work for most  of time and  the only
laptop I use for work purposes for  now is the old Dell Studio one. But
it is used as  a par of my standing desk. Thus it  is used as a desktop
eplacement and not as a laptop (being  17" device it actually is a type
of  device which  is called  the "desktop  replacement" or  the "mobile
workstation"). It is also as noisy as a desktops usually are...
