Palm vs modern Ubuntu

I  have learned  that  latest  LTS Ubuntu  (20.04)  no longer  includes
Palm  support by  default  no  Jpilot nor  the  pilot-link  are in  the
repositories.  The  Jpilot can  be  installed  without issues  but  the
pilot-link is gone for some reason.

Today I  wanted to  download the  new PalmPix  pictures from  my TRGpro
("pilot-xfer -f ArchImage") just to found that pilot-link package is no
more.

The old  version (from the  Ubuntu 18.04)  can be installed  with "dpkg
--force-all" command  but that's not  ideal (there are  some unresolved
dependencies  -  but  it's  an  artificial  issued  because  compatible
libraries ARE available).

I still don't understand this direction of progress..
