TFF Today ========= The end of the TenFourFox was announced [1] thus I have been using it as much s possible before it expires. It always was an excellent browser, and it still is. I have been using a G4 Apple computer - the latest 15" PowerBook 1.67GHz (the fastest and greatest PowerPC laptop the Apple ever made). Its raw power was very low by today's standards anyway (any cheap tablet can beat it - at least on a paper). The TenFourFox is so well optimised so it run fast enough (the TTF here can often beat most of browser on pocket device I have available - and they are usually 10 or more years younger than my PowerBook). Cameron Kaiser often named the cases where he was not able to speed up the browser to reach his aims - but even without these the browser is still unbelievably fast. Well, at the moment I'm siting in front of my PowerBook, using the TenFourFox (some 6 tabs are opened), the Evernote client, the Vienna (the RSS aggregator - a nice tool but resources-hungry) and the Terminal where I'm writing this post. And the machine runs smoothly and I'm still feel comfortable (well, except the keyboard - nothing can beat my old good SGI granite keyboard with its Alps switches...). P.S. I already prepared several gopher posts but still have not transferred them from my Organiser II to a network-connected computer.
