New SIM, new phone ================== My Palm Centro decided to die. So I have had to replace it. Things have not been so easy because my old full-sized SIM (trimmed to the microSIM format anyway) do not fit any modern (or semi-modern) phone. Thus I visited my phone provider's shop today. It was a story for itself: the Sturmey-Archer hub on my Brompton bike have started work incorrectly. Then was a heavy rainfall. But I ahve got a new SIM. SIM activation was a bit complicated - you have to enter a 19-digit ID into their system or to scan the barcode (in gray - I have not found any device what was able to scan it). But it finally have started to work. Then I have had to select the phone. It was pretty easy actually as I have had only one "modern" phone at home: the Mudita Pure. [1] I have got it during their crowdfunding campaign but never opened it, yet. So now it is in the full service. Phone numbers manually entered (for these few numbers it was easier than finding a Palm-to-something converter), the phone charged and put into the protective case... I only hope that this phone will last longer than these last two... References: [1] https://mudita.com/products/phones/mudita-pure/
