Analog stuff, mostly

It seems I prefer to be off the computer as much as I can. I think that
this  year I  have  spent more  time using  the  gramophone than  doing
something interesting on the computer.

We now have  a bit complicated situation  at work so I'm  trying not to
open e-mail  at home and  rather keeping the  computer off as  much has
possible,

I also have  renovated a 1963 Moulton  bike [1]. The frame  is the 1963
one (so a very  early one) and it have arrived  painted to resemble the
John Woodburn's [2] machine from  the Carditt to London record-breaking
ride. The bike came to me as a frame only so I added dropbars, a saddle
and other needed things to make it look "sporty". The front wheel is an
original Moulton one (however from a different bike) but the rear wheel
was modernised  to incorporate the  moders Sturmey-Archer S2C  hub gear
(the original Woodburn's machine had a 4-speed Sturmey-Archer hub).

The main problem was the chainset  as the previous owner somewhat added
the Shimano  Octalink V1 bottom bracket  (I thing he must  modified the
frame). So I have had to buy  a compatible chainset (the Octalink V1 is
not produced for ages so it wasn't easy nor cheap and I had some issues
with adjustment).

The  result, however,  is not  that bad  [3]: the  machine looks  to be
sporty,  is about  13 kg  (including the  lights and  the bag)  and has
2  speeds  (the  S2C  is  2-speed  hub  where  speeds  are  changed  by
back-pedalling) - 64"  and 88". While I would like  a bit lower gearing
for local hills this is what I was able to get with available parts.
