Tcl/Tk Compatibility

... is much worse than I thought. Not only I am not able to run the MatView [1]
on a modern Linux but I'm not even able to run my own (and not so old) software
[2]! It's stupid: I tried to do come computations at work and I was forced to
stop it and use my home worksation instead.

The abovementioned stuff works with teh Tck/Tk 8.4 but modern systems have
something like 8.6. An the differences are so bit that things are broken.

I have to look at another GUI toolkit. But it will be a problem: I neet
something backward-compatible. Thus both the Qt and the Gtk+ are out of game.
