---------- An Ishapore Enfield May 13, 2023 ----- A buddy swung by with his new counterfeit Enfield jungle carbine. He wanted to pick my brain before hitting the range with a couple boxes of 303 Brit, and a good thing he did. Despite being labeled as a .303, it was actually one of the Pajeet 7.62x51mm NATO rifles. We proceeded to dig out my legitimate No. 5 Mk1 and compared the carbines. His is a touch longer, has nicer wood, metal buttplate, and stiff safety lever. It should be a fun little firebreather. Before he left, I offered him a trade. My full-length Rifle Factory Ishapore 2A1 has languised in the back of my safe for decades. While fun, the forestock is too rotten to continue in livefire service. He was offered it for parts or repair in trade for the erroneously purchased 303 British ammunition and accepted. While both Indian rifles were out, we noticed that they were made in the same year. I'm looking forward to a range report from the man and hope my old curry-breather gets put to good use in his hands. ====== kimek [gopher://sdf.org/1/users/kimek]
