---------- On Gaiters and Inseams January 17, 2024 ----- Having worn gaiters - and often crampons - quite often in personal life, I have taken to procuring trousers with an inseam a couple inches shorter than is common. This keeps the leg hem up away from spikes and prevents it trying to stick out the bottom of the gaiter that should be covering it. Most people don't notice but some women have questioned the sizing of my inseam. While I have never given any real thought to the perspective of others, I noticed the short inseam on a co-worker's pants today. This person worked trail maintenance at a ski resort for years; a personal detail that came up in a conversation some time back. Since noticing, I have thought back to some other people in that line of work I have met and realize that it is somewhat common among them. This is an autistic and uninteresting observation about pant sizing cues to vocation and hobby but there you have it. ====== kimek [gopher://sdf.org/1/users/kimek]
