---------- Parasite (2019) Notes Written - 04/23/2023 Format - Blu-Ray ----- Poor trash, rich cunts, a vapid society, and the usual South Korean depresive nihilism combine to make for an interesting...soap opera. The audience follows a family of impoverished degenerates as they attempt to claw their way into the household service of an utterly gullible rich couple. I say "follows" but the pace is so slow that it is more like walking behind an elderly woman with a walker laden with groceries. If you didn't love her, you'd leave her to the wolves and move on with life. More than halfway through your slog, as you contemplate smothering the old biddy with her own pillow for everyone's benefit, a car screeches around the corner straight for her and all hell breaks loose. Granny has a more robust story than you ever imagined. When the dust settles and you see that she is the one left standing, your eyebrows arch. Later that night, you put her out of everyone's misery as planned because she still holds you up. Maybe watch it. Probably don't. It's too long, overrated, and maybe the NorKs should launch some missiles - leaving the entire peninsula smoldering in mutual destruction. ====== kimek [gopher://sdf.org/1/users/kimek]
