We'll get there.* One thing that's holding us back is the process of making chips, which rather stupendously astounding all by itself: Take a picture. Shrink it. Print it with metal. Electrify. It does stuff. Amazing!* Yet... very flat. I'm hoping for new techniques that allow for.. I dunno, I'm thinking using copper ions inbetween crystals, then dissolving the crystals and replacing them with a semi-conductor material or something....* you know.. something more resembling sponges or neurons. Might be harder to figure out at first but considering we know the layout of hundreds of 3D crystalline structures, it seems the next logical step in silicon/copper processing with electrons. But that's of the top of my head.* I have no idea if it's even possible.
