We're likely have similar politics. I don't care for
   hierarchies, but having worked both in government and in "big
   pharma" and dealt with hierarchies personally frequently, I'll
   say one thing:

   they're inefficient as hell.
   They can't get ANYTHING done.
   They're slow
   Ineffective.
   Barely move.

   They're not agile. The only criticism they respond to is threat
   of lawsuit/lawsuit and they're filled with people who are
   scrambling for minor recognition in their own little ponds.

   I used to hate big corp/govt etc. Now, I realize they're pretty
   much useless. I mean they do a lot but they're not nearly as
   powerful as they make themselves out to be.

   So, I don't worry much about them.
