Oh cool - post apocolyptic monastic environment saving knowledge
   for posterity in a hostile time? Love it! It's me.

   My need-to-save comes from watching my own words DISAPPEAR from
   the 'net... and all the promises of FOREVER broken. Time and
   time and time again.

   That's what started the collection effort. The www was born
   broken because it wasn't ready for this level of change in '93
   when the doors opened up to commerce in a BIG WAY.

   I remember the thread on Usenet in 1993: "The Death of the
   Internet"
   and they were right, almost. The Internet of '93 lives on... but
   it's gone Open source... and you have to search harder to find
   like-minds and people with an interest in not losing this
   rapidly disappearing knowledge.

   Try to find something online pre-2009. It gets harder and harder
   to do.
