Consider this:
   Why are we online right now?

   We're creating our utopias. Living in these spaces.
   We're not at the local bar. [maybe on phones]
   We're not on stage entertaining crowds or sitting in wooden
   rooms debating legal issues.

   Instead, we're gathered here, in a think tank, discussing issues
   of world importance, glued to our chairs. [or laying down, or
   standing - it doesn't matter]. We don't even have to be 'live';
   time delay is ok here, unlike 3D society.
