Oh on the contrary: I think the New Doctor Who took the BEST of Classic Doctor Who and improved it 100,000%! The way they changed it into a DRAMA, epic movie scores, same whimsical Doctor, accessible to adults and kids alike - oh, it's brilliant. I'm astounded - even 10 years after the new series started. I STILL remember being disappointed in the 80s at the last classic doctor and was starting to lose interest in the show; that is, until they cancelled it. Then I was like, "NOOOOOOO THE NEXT ONE WILL BE BETTER!".. Now I love Sylvester McCoy whenever i see him. And actually, he was a great doctor stuck with crappy writers. smile emoticon But honestly, Doctor Who is one of those rare cases where the "sequel" (if it can be called that) is better than the original.
