Had the Internet remained tied to the phone lines, we wouldn't have had this issue. The network was in place worldwide, quite well already. But we wanted faster. dialup not good enough. Fatter copper. Fiber optic. Wireless. Cellular. So, it's all getting installed. Broadband isn't the same as Internet. It's just the REALLY NICE Internet that we're spoiled with. It'll take a while for the infrastructure to supplant telephone lines [telegraph cables]. Clever people are in every community on the planet. If they want faster, they'll find a way.
