I've been watching the OLPC project for many years now, even
   back when it was going to be a hand-crank thing, before
   smartphones and tablets emerged on the scene.

   I'm glad they're making progress. I believe people CAN teach
   themselves, with some gentle guidance here and there, but
   nothing authoritarian required; just a well trained skepticism
   and learning to puzzle things out.
